Activating T-Mobile Holiday Mode with Augmented Reality

I designed the UI for a large-scale AR experience, transforming T-Mobile’s brand into an interactive 3D activation across four locations.
About the Project
From interactive navigation to engaging visual components, I crafted a cohesive design that balanced brand consistency with usability. Using Figma, Illustrator, and Photoshop, I created a framework that made the experience both visually compelling and effortless to explore.
The Solution
I built a cohesive design system that extended T-Mobile’s brand into AR, creating reusable UI components, navigation overlays, and interaction states. Every element was designed to make interactions feel natural and intuitive.
Beyond UI, I provided creative direction for 3D assets, shaping their look and feel to align with the design system. By balancing usability with immersive visuals, I helped create an AR experience that felt polished, interactive, and easy to navigate.
A key challenge in AR is directing user attention without overwhelming them. Instead of relying on static instructions, I used dynamic visual cues—animated arrows, glowing interaction points, and subtle motion—to guide users seamlessly through the experience. Multiple rounds of QA and playtesting refined these interactions, ensuring a smooth and engaging user flow.
Results
T-Mobile Holiday Mode launched seamlessly across Times Square, T-Mobile campuses, and wherever else users engaged with it.
This project’s success led directly to a follow-up activation at the F1 races in Las Vegas, where I designed the UI and traveled on-site to oversee implementation, document the user experience, and collaborate with the T-Mobile team.
